Dr Peter Winterton completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Western Australia in 1976. In 1984, Dr Winterton gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr. Winterton has a strong presence in all areas of General Practice, having done obstetrics for 20 years, paediatrics, aged care and general medicine.

Peter is also skilled in doing minor skin surgery. He has been involved in both undergraduate and post graduate teaching for his entire career.

He is multilingual speaking German and some Italian. He is renowned for his gentle and compassionate approach to the most complex of issues.
